History
The PACVB was founded in 1972. It is the not-for-profit organization for the officially designated tourist promotion agencies (TPAs) within Pennsylvania. These TPAs qualify for participation under the Tourism Promotion Law of 1961; P.L.111.
Organizational Structure
The PACVB is a 501c(6) non-profit trade association (exempt from federal income taxes); articles of incorporation filed with PA Department of State.
Governance
A 13-member Board of Directors elected annually by the membership governs the PACVB. The association's committee structure consists of eight standing committees.

The association has an active governmental affairs program, which includes a full-time registered lobbyist who advances the mission of the association to the legislative and executive branches of state government as well as local county elected officials.
