Pennsylvania Tourism Day – Wednesday, April 21, 2010

Come to Harrisburg and help educate state legislators on key industry issues that affect your business's bottom line

Join other tourism industry leaders from across the state at this year's Pennsylvania Tourism Day on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at the State Capitol Complex in Harrisburg. This annual event will provide an opportunity for you to make a difference through coordinated visits with members of the PA General Assembly and share your perspective on key issues impacting your business and employees.

There is no better opportunity for you to make an impact on legislation that matters most to you this year: room taxes, tourism marketing funding in the state budget, mandated menu labeling, to name just a few.

Meetings with legislators, and/or their staff, will be held in the morning and early afternoon. PTLA staff will schedule your appointments and provide issue briefs and other handouts. You can pick up your information about legislator visits at the onsite registration located in the East Wing Rotunda by 8:45 am.

You will also be able to attend a rally/press conference where industry representatives will speak about the economic importance of the tourism industry and our legislative agenda. A breakfast with legislators (in the East Wing Rotunda) is also planned for the day's activities.

There is no registration fee to attend these events. Please complete and return the
Tourism Day Registration Form by April 7, 2010.

If you need overnight accommodations, guest rooms are available at a special rate of $109 at the Crowne Plaza Harrisburg, 23 S. Second Street in Harrisburg, within walking distance of the Capitol Complex. Call 717-234-5021 and reference "TDP" to reserve a room at this special rate. The deadline is April 6, 2010.

Schedule of Events
8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Breakfast with Legislators
9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Appointments with Legislators and/or Legislative Staff
9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m Rally & Press Conference
